Current NQT Provision
At Teach SouthEast we run two versions of our NQT programme for Primary and Secondary NQTs:
- Core programme
- Accredited programme.
The core model of the NQT programme supports NQTs through their Induction year with an in-school programme of Mentor meetings, lesson observations, school specific CPD alongside our assessment system and programme of centralized CPD sessions. An example of these are detailed below and they are delivered utilising the pedagogy specialisms that exist within our partnership of schools.

We have a long standing relationship with the University of Sussex and we work with them to offer the accredited model of the NQT programme which has run successfully across many of our secondary schools since Sept 2017.
Within this model all NQTs engage with a minimum of 3 and maximum of 8 Reflective Journals (dependent on school and context) over the year and have the option to have one of these assessed by the University of Sussex to gain 30 Masters’ credits at the end of the NQT year. Following the NQT year there is a great opportunity for colleagues to continue to gain an additional 30 credits in their NQT+1 year and then engage in the Masters dissertation in their NQT+2 year. The associated costs are shown below with a comparison to completing a full Masters outside of this Partnership;
